Physical System Models

The power of linear dynamic systems analysis is that many types of systems can be modeled with the same type of differential equation, so the analysis of different physical systems can use the same approach.  However, in order to analyze the behavior of a physical system, a system model must first be developed.  The documents listed below describe how to develop models for physical systems in a variety of domains.  Generally, the order in which these domains are studied is unimportant (e.g., electrical systems may be studied before mechanical systems), thus the order in which the domains are listed has no particular significance.
